The buttons on toolbar allow you to create the layers of different types, to draw on layers, retouch, transform and select.

Click on some button to active the tool.  At the right top side of the main window you can see the panel , where the parameters of current tool are displayed.

 

There are 20 tools in total:

 

clip0004 - Select Layer. When this tool is active, you can select the layers, resize and rotate them. In the settings you can change position of selected layer(s); and use the buttons for rotations, flipping and cropping the layers.

 

clip0005 - Hand tool. When activated, you can scroll the canvas by dragging it with your cursor.

 

clip0006 - Zoom In/Out.  When active, you can zoom in by left-clicking on the canvas; and zoom out by right-clicking.

 

clip0007 - Selection. When active, you can select an area on image layer. The following types of selection tool are available:

Rectangular;

Polygonal.  Click on the image to create points of polygonal selection. If you hold down the mouse button and move the cursor, the tool will act as lasso (freehand) ;

Elliptical. Select the area in the form of ellipsis. If you hold down Alt key, then circle selection is used.

Lasso.Free selection in any form, freehand selection.

Magic wand. You need to click on any point of the image to select an area with a similar colors. The Tolerance parameter (0 - 100%) must be specified. The higher this parameter is, the more area will be selected (since the range of color similarity increases).

 

For all types of area selections, one rule applies: to add a new area to an existing selected area, press and hold Shift key. To subtract an area from the selected area, press and hold Ctrl key.

 

 

clip0008 - Crop the selected layer.  You need to specify the rectangular area on the image, then press Enter to apply, or click OK button (on the Crop panel).

Furthermore, you can select Aspect ratio for crop area: Any (default), Custom (you need to set aspect values), Original (if you want to keep the aspect ratio of original image),  and others.

 

horizon-btn - Horizon. Used to fix crooked photos and aligns horizons. Two alignment types are supported: horizontal and vertical. Draw a line along which the photo should be aligned.

 

clip0009 - Warp / Perspective.  Select the rectangular area on the image, then use grips to warp the image or do perspective transformation.

 

clip0010 - Shape. Draw a Shape layer. Choose from hundred of ready-to-use shapes of all forms. Configure main parameters of the shape, and click on "Effects" button to apply various effects to layer.

 

clip0011 - Text - Draw a Text layer. To edit the text, either double click on it, either click on "Edit" button (on the Text panel). When you end your editing, click the "End Ediiting" button.

If you want to change the size of the text, first try changing the font size option. To change the size of the text area, select the Select Layer tool and resize the layer so that all the text is visible.

Configure main parameters of the text, and click on "Effects" button to apply various effects to layer.

 

clip0012 - Line/Arrow - Draw lines and arrows of all styles and types. Once you activate this tool, you need to click on the canvas to set the starting point and then click elsewhere to set the end point of the line.

Configure main parameters of the line, and click on "Effects" button to apply various effects to layer.

 

clip0013 - Polyline. Draw a shape of any form. There are two methods of drawing (you can select from the combo):

Click for new point.  You need to click on the canvas to create nodes of the polyline. Press Enter (or click "Finish" button)  to end creation of the polyline.

Freehand drawing. Draw the desired shape by holding down the left mouse button and moving the cursor across the canvas.

You can  transform polyline to polygon in the following way: enable the options "Closed" and "Fill".

Configure main parameters of the polyline layer, and click on "Effects" button to apply various effects to layer.

 

clip0014 - Path is a kind of layer. It allows precise selection and outlining of objects, especially those with curves or intricate details. Unlike selection tools, paths offer more control and are not pixel-dependent.

Using paths, you can create selections, polylines/polygons, draw along the path.

Path is always applied to the underlying layer.  It's not visible on the exported image.

 

clip0015 - Pencil.  A simple drawing tool of rectangular form and solid color. Make sure you selected the layer of image type before to paint on it.

 

 

clip0016 - Brush. A multi-functional drawing tool with various settings like shape, size, angle,  feathering, opacity, operation etc.

There are few types of brushes:

Solid. Single-color brush;

Gradient. Similar to solid brush, but gradient filling is used here;

Spray;

Textured. This brush is textured. Click the "Folder" button to open the texture folder. You can put your images in this folder and use them as textures.

 

The brush shape can also be customized. Click the Folder button (located next to the Shape field) to open a folder with shape images. Place your images in this folder and use them as textures.

 

clip0017 - Retouching tool allows you to enhance the photo by correcting small imperfections.. The goal is to create a polished final image that maintains the integrity of the original photograph while enhancing its visual appeal.

There are several types of retouch tool:

Smudge;

Blur;

Motion Blur;

Auto-sharpness;

Sharpen;

Unsharpen;

Smooth;

Pixelize;

Lightning;

Darkening;

Colorizing;

Decolorizing;

Wave.

 

clip0018 - Heal. Hide blemishes and copy content.

 

clip0019 - Clone. Copy content of one part of an image to apply elsewhere, e.g. to erase unwanted content.

1. Click to select Cloning Source;

2. Click elsewhere and move cursor to begin cloning;

3. Press ESC to end current cloning.

 

clip0020 - Eraser. Erase the pixels under the cursor. The erased area becomes transparent.

There two types or eraser tool.

Standard Eraser;

Background erase. A computer-vision tool that allows to erase background without affecting the object on the front.

 

clip0021 - Fill tool. Fill an image area by clicking anywhere on the image layer.

The Tolerance parameter (0 - 100%) must be specified. The higher this parameter is, the more area will be filled (since the range of color similarity increases).

There are two types of the fill tool:

Color fill.  Filling with solid color;

Alpha fill. Filling the region with transparency of specified level;

 

If you want to fill the area with image instead of single color, then you need to

1. Select desired area on image;

2. In the main menu select : Edit -> Blend.  Choose the image file. Specify the blending value and apply the changes.

 

clip0022 - Color picker tool. Click anywhere on the image layer to select the color. This color will be automatically used as currect color for pencil, brush, fill tools.

You can also replace picked color on image with another color. Enable the "Replace with" option, and specify the tolerance parameter.

 

clip0023 - Ruler tool. Measure the distances on the photo.

There are few types of ruler you can choose from:

Length;

Area;

Circle;

Angle.
