Variants

AlterPhoto photo editor allows you to create different variants of the same project (photo). This can be either a minimal change or a completely different work.

 

The variants are displayed in the list on the Variants panel.

 

clip0026 - To create a duplicate version of the current work, click the "Duplicate" button.

 

clip0027 - To create several versions based on the selected presets, click the "Add Variants Using Presets" button, then choose presets, and click OK.  More info about presets you can found here.

 

clip0028 - To edit existing presets, or create new custom presets, click the button "Edit Presets".

To add new preset, open the Preset Editor, then click "Add" button. Specify the name of new preset. Then on Preview window select the category of adjustment. Edit the settings, and save the Preset.  Now this preset is available in the list of presets.

 

clip0029 - To set currently selected variant as default (main) variant, click at the button "Set As Default".

 

clip0030 - To remove selected variant, click at the button "Remove Variant".

 

To switch between variants, simply select the desired item in the list.

When exporting images, in the "Select Output Folder and Format" window, you can choose what to export: the default variant and/or other variants.

 

AlterPhoto uses its own file format ALTR. This format can contain several variants of the project.

 

Therefore, when saving a project in ALTR format (File -> Save As), all variants are saved in one file.
